LEGO and Netflix Team Up for KPop Demon Hunters Sets

LEGO and Netflix Announce KPop Demon Hunters Collaboration, New Sets Planned Through 2027

LEGO is officially bringing KPop Demon Hunters into brick form through a new collaboration with Netflix, expanding the animated hit’s growing pop-culture footprint beyond the screen.

The partnership will introduce a series of LEGO KPop Demon Hunters sets inspired by the film’s most recognizable characters and moments, with the first release already teased and additional sets confirmed for 2027.

The debut LEGO set centers on Derpy, the supernatural tiger who quickly became a fan favorite in KPop Demon Hunters. Introduced as the underworld companion of Saja Boys leader Jinu, Derpy later forms a close bond with Huntr/x leader Rumi, making him one of the film’s most memorable characters.

In the teaser released alongside the announcement, Derpy is seen playfully knocking over a flowerpot, offering a glimpse at how the character will be adapted into LEGO form. The reveal also suggests that fans will be able to recreate iconic scenes from the animated movie using the upcoming sets.

At this stage, LEGO has not confirmed whether the KPop Demon Hunters line will use traditional minifigures, minidolls, or a mix of both. However, Huntr/x characters previously appeared as minifigures in LEGO Fortnite, leaving the door open for multiple formats.

The announcement sparked a mixed response across social media. LEGO fan and content creator Tiago Catarino shared his excitement, writing, “It’s gonna be golden!!” Another fan joked, “Love this. We need a LEGO couch for Derpy.”

Not everyone was convinced, though. Some users questioned the theme’s appeal, with one comment reading, “Another waste of a theme,” while another simply responded, “Ew.”

This collaboration marks another chapter in LEGO and Netflix’s ongoing relationship. The two companies have previously partnered on Stranger Things and One Piece LEGO sets, both of which proved popular among collectors.

More recently, LEGO launched its first wave of Pokémon sets as part of the franchise’s 30th anniversary celebrations. While the release generated strong interest, it also drew criticism over pricing, with one fan remarking online that the cost rivaled buying a new game console and multiple games.

Meanwhile, KPop Demon Hunters remains one of Netflix’s biggest success stories. Since its debut last June, the film has become the most-watched original title in Netflix history and the first Netflix film to top the US box office.

Its soundtrack also made history, becoming the first film soundtrack to place four songs simultaneously in the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10. The album was certified double platinum in the United States in October.

The film has earned major awards recognition as well, receiving two Oscar nominations for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for “Golden.” The track recently won Best Song Written for Visual Media at the Grammys.

Later this month, singers EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, the voices behind Huntr/x’s Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, will perform “Golden” together at the EE BAFTA Film Awards. Although the film itself is ineligible for BAFTA consideration due to cinema release regulations, the artists described the performance as a milestone moment.

“Performing at the EE BAFTA Film Awards is a golden moment that our younger selves could never have imagined,” they said in a joint statement. “We’re incredibly proud to represent KPop Demon Hunters and share the film’s positive message with fans around the world.”

With LEGO sets now on the way, KPop Demon Hunters shows no signs of slowing down as it continues to expand across entertainment, music, and merchandise.
