Reborn Rookie Episode 4 Recap – Episode 4 of Reborn Rookie continues right after Bang-geul starts processing the shocking truth about everything around her. She’s still unsure how to react, especially toward Yong-ho, who is now living inside Jun-hyeon’s body. He doesn’t waste time and asks her to team up with him to reclaim Choiseong from the twins, following what he believes aligns with her father’s intentions. Bang-geul doesn’t fully trust him yet, and honestly, her caution feels justified. Yong-ho, surprisingly, respects that hesitation.
At the same time, tension quietly builds elsewhere as Byung-mo and Eun-se begin realizing they’ve been misled by Director Song Nam-hoon. He has been manipulating information and painting Jae-seong as someone just as unreliable as his own father.
Workplace Chaos and Forced Dinner
The next morning brings more corporate tension. Bang-geul and Yong-ho show up late, and the materials team immediately faces complaints. But instead of punishment, Managing Director Kwon Beom-sik praises them for their clash with the sales team. He even highlights Jun-hyeon’s role and forces the team into a dinner gathering.
Nobody is excited about it.
Yong-ho, meanwhile, is oddly satisfied with how things are going after tricking Byung-mo earlier. That satisfaction doesn’t last long because Bong-ki calls and orders him to attend the dinner anyway.
At the dinner, MD Kwon quickly takes control and forces Bang-geul to serve drinks. Yong-ho doesn’t stay silent. Even though Bang-geul tries to stop him, he openly confronts Kwon, setting the tone for a confrontation that escalates into a drinking challenge.
MD Kwon, confident in his alcohol tolerance, challenges Jun-hyeon. Yong-ho accepts but raises the stakes: if he wins, forced team dinners should end.
A flashback reminds us that Chairman Kang Yong-ho once defeated Kwon in a similar drinking match, adding weight to what’s about to happen.
In the present, Yong-ho wins again.
This moment completely shifts the atmosphere, and the team finally gets to leave without further humiliation. It’s one of those scenes where you can feel the balance of power quietly shift.
Later, Bang-geul finds Bong-ki drunk outside and asks Yong-ho to help take him home. The next morning, Bong-ki wakes up in the penthouse and immediately scolds Yong-ho for spending money recklessly.
That’s when Yong-ho drops a shocking claim.
He tells Bong-ki that he is Chairman Kang’s secret son.
It sounds absurd, but Bong-ki believes it. Yong-ho then carefully uses this lie to pull Bong-ki deeper into his plan, especially regarding the audit issues and Jae-seong’s involvement. By the end of their conversation, Bong-ki agrees to support him in targeting the twins.
Inside Choiseong, police investigate Director Song’s disappearance. Jae-gyeong quickly points suspicion toward Jae-seong, who denies everything but looks increasingly cornered.
Soon after, a directors’ meeting introduces a new business move: Jae-gyeong plans to acquire GF Solutions with a foreign investor backing. This immediately escalates tensions between her and Jae-seong.
Privately, Jae-seong confronts her, accusing her of using slush fund money to build leverage in the company. He realizes this is part of a bigger strategy to gain control in the chairman succession battle.
Bang-geul informs Yong-ho about Jae-seong’s involvement in the Yuncheon Port project. Yong-ho connects the dots quickly with Bong-ki’s help and realizes Jae-seong is being used by Byung-mo.
This leads him to review Bang-geul’s Gangwon port proposal, which he is genuinely impressed by. He then uses it strategically, presenting it to Jae-gyeong as an alternative to Yuncheon’s plan.
He even accompanies Bang-geul to meet the Gangwon governor’s secretary. The proposal gets a positive response, raising their momentum.
At the same time, Byung-mo sets another trap by encouraging Eun-se to pass information about Jae-seong’s upcoming meeting with the Yuncheon mayor to Jae-gyeong, knowing it will trigger more internal conflict.
The family dinner scene adds another layer of discomfort. Jae-gyeong publicly humiliates Seon-hee, reinforcing how cold and divided this family really is.
Meanwhile, Byung-mo and Jae-seong continue discussing how to protect their slush fund operations, unaware that Bong-ki is secretly tracking them and reporting back to Yong-ho.
Later, Bong-ki gathers evidence of their meeting, strengthening Yong-ho’s position even further.
A major turning point happens when the Yuncheon mayor suddenly resigns after being pressured using evidence tied to Bang-geul’s actions behind the scenes. This destabilizes Jae-seong’s position further.
When Jae-seong learns about Jae-gyeong’s competing port plan, he loses control and storms into the meeting, accusing her of stealing his project.
But Jae-gyeong refuses to back down, insisting her plan is for Choiseong’s growth. The board ultimately supports her proposal.
Jae-seong is publicly defeated.
While Yong-ho and Bang-geul quietly celebrate, Sung-jae begins to notice something unusual about Jun-hyeon. A deeper investigation reveals Jun-hyeon has been staying in Chairman Kang’s penthouse, raising serious questions.
This is the first real sign that Yong-ho’s disguise is no longer as secure as he thinks.
One of the quieter but strongest moments comes when Yong-ho meets Seon-hee without being able to reveal his identity. Watching his wife and daughter share a meal while he remains invisible in his own life is quietly heartbreaking.
Bang-geul later gives her mother a small break from household pressure, showing subtle growth in her own attitude.
By the end of the episode, Yong-ho takes the chairman’s sports car for a drive. It’s a bold move that feels almost careless compared to his usually calculated behavior.
Unfortunately for him, Jae-gyeong sees everything.
Her suspicion sharpens instantly, and it’s clear that Yong-ho may have finally pushed his luck too far.
Episode Review
Reborn Rookie Episode 4 is packed with business strategies, manipulation, and corporate warfare. At times, the heavy focus on deals and financial schemes almost overshadows the fantasy body-swap premise, but it also shows how far Yong-ho has come in controlling his new environment.
The drinking contest scene stands out as one of the most satisfying moments. It’s simple, but it re-establishes Yong-ho’s dominance in a very direct way.
What really keeps things interesting is the growing risk around his identity. Jae-gyeong’s suspicion, Bong-ki’s investigation, and Sung-jae’s curiosity all point toward one thing: Yong-ho’s cover is becoming harder to maintain.
The emotional thread involving Seon-hee also adds weight beneath all the corporate tension. Those scenes remind us there’s still a personal cost behind everything happening in Choiseong.
And with the sports car incident at the end, the episode sets up a clear shift. Yong-ho isn’t just playing offense anymore, he’s starting to get noticed.
