Sold Out On You Episode 7 Recap & Review – Ye-jin Finally Stops Hiding Her Feelings

Episode 7 of Sold Out On You picks up immediately after Ye-jin shocks Matthew with a sudden kiss. In true K-drama fashion, the emotional moment becomes even more awkward when Ye-jin casually tells him she missed him… and then falls asleep right in front of him.

Meanwhile, Matthew spends the entire night unable to rest. The kiss clearly affects him far more than he wants to admit. But the next morning, Ye-jin behaves as if nothing happened at all. She acts completely normal, leaving Matthew confused and increasingly flustered every time she says something remotely affectionate or accidentally brushes against him.

The emotional tension between them becomes the driving force of the episode, especially because neither of them is ready to openly discuss what happened.

After Matthew and Ye-jin finish their morning run, Jin-yi suddenly arrives looking for Som-yi. She ends up joining them for breakfast, and Ye-jin quickly notices how comfortable Jin-yi and Matthew are around each other.

Their natural chemistry immediately bothers Ye-jin, even if she refuses to admit it.

Later, Jin-yi reflects on her complicated history with Matthew. In the past, she confronted him for disappearing after causing emotional pain to others. Even though she still cares about him, there’s lingering frustration beneath her calm exterior.

At the same time, back in Seoul, Eric makes an unexpected decision. Instead of leaving for France, he meets Director Dong to discuss the future of the failed essence product. Director Dong explains that other agencies are testing the product before making a final decision about another broadcast.

Eric then offers HIT a new L’Etoile eye cream, but only under one condition: Ye-jin must be reinstated as a host.

It’s one of the first signs that Eric genuinely regrets what happened.

The Deokpung Festival Brings Chaos and Comedy

The peaceful village of Deokpung prepares for its annual community festival, giving Episode 7 a lighter and more playful atmosphere.

Matthew helps organize the event, although he refuses to fully participate. While working together, Jin-yi quietly warns Ye-jin not to misunderstand Matthew’s kindness. According to her, he’s only helping out because he feels responsible for Ye-jin.

That comment clearly affects Ye-jin more than she wants to admit.

Elsewhere, Mu-woon arrives in Deokpung and unexpectedly reunites with Ae-ra. Their scenes together are surprisingly charming, especially when Ae-ra becomes impressed by his knowledge of coffee. Even Kwang-mo notices the chemistry between them.

After spending the entire day preparing for the festival, Matthew returns home and discovers that Ye-jin cooked dinner for him. Unfortunately, her omelet turns out to be a complete disaster, filled with eggshells and barely recognizable as food.

Still, the scene becomes one of the episode’s sweetest moments.

While trying to stop her from throwing the food away, Matthew accidentally bumps into the table. Ye-jin casually mentions that he was also clumsy the previous night when he walked into her bedroom door.

That single comment exposes her secret.

A flashback reveals what really happened the night of the kiss.

Ye-jin had been awake the entire time.

She waited nervously for Matthew to return home and even considered texting him about her feelings. When he finally arrived, her emotions overwhelmed her so much that she pretended to be asleep before kissing him.

In the present, embarrassment immediately takes over once Matthew realizes she remembers everything.

The emotional awkwardness between them only grows stronger as the village festival officially begins.

The festival soon becomes crowded with unexpected visitors. Sung-mi and Ki-hong arrive searching for Ye-jin, while Eric also appears hoping to convince her to return to Seoul.

Before he can talk seriously with her, Kwang-mo drags Eric into the festival games between Deokpung’s neighboring communities.

The games themselves become some of the funniest scenes in the episode.

Kwang-mo wins an arm wrestling match after receiving encouragement from Sung-mi, while Sung-mi later dominates her own competition. Eric unexpectedly excels during a charades game alongside Mrs. Yang.

But the highlight comes during Matthew and Ye-jin’s turn.

Completely distracted by thoughts of the kiss, Matthew fails miserably at the game. Instead of guessing the correct answer, he blurts out, “I like your lips,” causing total chaos for the team.

It’s painfully obvious that he has fallen hard for Ye-jin.

Later, the relay race creates even more drama. When Ye-jin injures her ankle, Matthew secretly takes over her part of the race and sprints to the finish line himself. Even though they technically win, their team is disqualified for breaking the rules.

Still, the gesture says everything Ye-jin needs to know.

As the festival winds down, several emotional conversations unfold.

Sung-mi admits she initially came because she worried about Ye-jin, but after seeing her in Deokpung, she realizes Ye-jin genuinely seems happier there.

Eric also apologizes sincerely for the way everything unfolded in Seoul. He offers Ye-jin the chance to reclaim her hosting position, promising to help restore her career.

But Ye-jin surprises him by refusing immediately.

Instead of chasing success again, she explains that life in Deokpung has taught her to slow down and appreciate simple happiness. It’s one of the clearest signs of how much she has changed since arriving in the village.

Meanwhile, Jin-yi finally opens up to Matthew about her own feelings. She admits she likes him even though she knows his heart belongs to someone else.

Rather than creating unnecessary conflict, she encourages him to be honest with Ye-jin.

It’s a surprisingly mature moment for her character.

Back at home, Matthew treats Ye-jin’s injured ankle and quietly reveals that he noticed her pain long before anyone else did. That’s the real reason he ran the relay race himself.

The conversation soon shifts toward the kiss.

Ye-jin finally admits everything. She confesses that she pretended to sleep because her heart was beating too loudly whenever Matthew came near her. She also explains why she acted as though she forgot the kiss the next morning, she became scared after seeing how awkward he was around her.

As Ye-jin nervously rambles through her confession, Matthew finally stops overthinking.

Instead of answering with words, he leans forward and kisses her.

And just like that, the slow-burning romance finally becomes real.

Episode 7 Review

Episode 7 delivers one of the strongest and most enjoyable chapters of Sold Out On You so far. The episode balances romance, comedy, and emotional payoff surprisingly well, especially during the festival scenes.

The writing wisely uses the aftermath of Ye-jin’s kiss as the emotional center of the story. Watching Matthew completely lose control whenever Ye-jin gets close creates some genuinely funny moments, but there’s also real emotional sincerity underneath the comedy.

The village festival also injects fresh energy into the drama. The games, rivalries, and awkward interactions prevent the romance from becoming too heavy, while still pushing the main relationship forward naturally.

Most importantly, the final confession scene feels earned.

Rather than rushing the romance, the episode allows both characters to openly acknowledge their fears and insecurities before finally embracing their feelings. Even Jin-yi’s subplot contributes positively by encouraging emotional honesty instead of unnecessary jealousy.

The drama still leans heavily into melodrama at times, and some character decisions can feel inconsistent. However, the emotional charm and chemistry between the leads continue to carry the story successfully.

At this point, Sold Out On You feels far more engaging and emotionally satisfying than it did during its early episodes.
